Milos… a way of slowing you down!

Milos has a way of slowing you down the moment you arrive. The island does not feel overly polished and that’s exactly its charm.

Villages like Plaka and Tripiti sit on the hillsides with narrow little roads, whitewashed houses and small cafés where time doesn’t seem to matter.

You see old people sitting on their yards, just happy to say hi to any passing guest. Even the light on Milos is different. Softer in the morning, golden in the afternoon, making the whole landscape feel almost cinematic. You think it is not possible? Just visit Sarakiniko.

What really stays with people, though, are the beaches which is a trademark of Milos. Milos doesn’t have just ‘nice’ beaches; it has places that look like they were carved by an artist. (in this case the volcano and the sea). Sarakiniko with its smooth white rock, Firiplaka with its colorful cliffs and the quiet coves around Pollonia each feel like a different world. Add the friendly locals, the fresh seafood, and that island calm and Milos becomes one of those places you think about long after you’ve left.
